Most Liked

The flavors at El Bigote are undoubtedly a highlight. Diners rave about the juicy birria and how the spice level meets expectations perfectly. Tacos are a crowd favorite, celebrated for both authentic toppings and bold combinations. The beautifully crafted burritos and quesadillas also draw high praise, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality.

Many find the atmosphere inviting, with lively music that enhances the overall dining experience. Patrons enjoy the attentive and friendly service—staff members make diners feel welcome and appreciated. Additionally, the unique offerings like freshly squeezed watermelon margaritas and a diverse cocktail menu create a fun, celebratory vibe.

Most Disliked

Some visitors mention that El Bigote may be slightly pricier compared to traditional street food spots. While the quality justifies the cost, it may come as a surprise to those expecting lower prices. A few customers suggest expanding the drink menu to include fresh lemonade or other fruity options, enhancing the already impressive beverage offerings.

During peak hours, the casual atmosphere can become quite lively, which might overwhelm guests seeking a quieter dining experience. Couple this with occasional waits for busy dining times, and it can lead to mixed feelings for some customers. However, the ambiance resonates with many who seek an exciting, energetic setting for their meals.

Brilliant dinner! Great food and good atmosphere. Stopped by for a snack and a very good choice. Had 3 tacos for £9 and some beef birria dirty fries, with a side of Pico de gallo. The food was delicious, street food style and of a very good standard. Served quickly and freshly prepared. Lively mexican music and added to a party atmosphere. If you're passing and fancy a traditional topped taco or burrito, quesadilla etc. you really can't go wrong. Great staff too. Apparently the freshly squeezed watermelon margaritas are incredible. Nice place. Will definitely be back!

My wife and I tried this place last year and loved it. Mexican is not normally my go to but we were really impressed with the food drinks and staff. So much so we kept telling my brother who lived in various places around Mexico for years that next time he comes to visit he must try this place. We were keen to get his opinion on the food to see if it was as good and authentic as we believed it was. His words after trying his first taco were “this is fire” he said the food is banging and legit and we returned several times during his visit back to the UK. The staff are brilliant, friendly and attentive, the food is amazing, the cocktails are well priced and tasty. When the sun is out and the latin music is playing this place has a great vibe. Easily our fave spot in Basingstoke!

Great food- very fresh with fantastic flavour. A little more costly than a traditional street good spot, but the quality makes up for it.

Was craving a burrito and they really didn’t disappoint, by far the best burrito I’ve had in a while. The flavours were brilliant with the spice level exactly right. I will definitely need to come back to try the birria beef! Great service too, will now be my go to in Basingstoke!

Tried this place a couple times recently, I like it. It's a relaxed atmosphere with good subtle music and friendly staff. The food both times has been quite tasty and fresh. Will definitely be back for more and can imagine it'd be a great place to eat during the light late summer evenings! Only recommendation I'd suggest for the place is to maybe offer fresh made drinks like a Limonade or variations. Glad to have come across this place!

Had takeaway from this place this evening and I am hugely impressed. The people at the counter were really nice and friendly. I ordered a mushroom burrito 🌯, a mushroom quesadilla and nachos. All three were exceptionally tasty and fresh. The spice they use is very hot and flavourful. Good amount of fillings in everything. My friend, however, didn’t care for the nachos much.
